The Class D amplifier is available only in a gloss black finish. Unlike the B&W PV1, the B&W ASW 12CM sticks to traditional models and does not have an innovative shape or unique design. What it does have is a heavy weight of 54 pounds and a decent size with a height of 15.5 inches not including feet, a width of 15.5 inches, and a depth of 17 inches including the controls and grille. The subwoofer has a phase switch and an automatic sensor that switches it into standby when not in use.
