There are two 5" woven Kevlar cone bass / midrange speakers which feature a fixed centre bullet that helps smooth the response into upper frequencies. Between these two speakers is a 1" aluminum dome tweeter, which handles all high frequencies. The tweeter is contained in a Nautilus tapering tube, which is designed to only project sound through a hollow pole magnet frontwards, and is tapered towards the rear to eliminate reflections off the rear of the cabinet producing unwanted sound effects. The symmetrical design of this speaker allows it to be placed horizontally, or vertically is space is at a premium. Magnetic shielding allows the speaker to be placed near any TV without any picture distortion. The B&W HTM62 is avaialable in four vinyl finishes: black ash, light oak (not available in USA/Canada), red cherry and wengé; and comes with a removable black cloth grill. The B&W HTM62 is sold individually or as the center speaker in the 685 and 684 home theatre system.
