Bose L1 Compact System
$1,000.00
Released August, 2009
The Pros:Easy to setup and occupies minimal space. Decent sound quality for what it is--good balance of highs, lows and mids. Works well when integrated into full sound systems.
The Cons:Dials limited to volume adjustment (no reverb or delay). Doesn't project much more than enough to fill a small room. Very expensive compared to similar competing units.
The Bose L1 Compact System is a hybrid loudspeaker unit that combines a conventional PA (public address) system — mixer, amplifier, and loudspeaker — with a monitor into one simple package.

The pivotal technology behind this unit is its Bose Spatial Dispersion Technology, which utilizes an ‘unusual’ vertical shape to dramatically improve sound coverage versus a traditional PA speaker. It is designed to be positioned on-stage either behind or alongside a performer, upon-which it delivers wide & even audio coverage throughout the auditorium. Included also are two ToneMatch channels with fixed presets for hooking up both a handheld microphone and an acoustic guitar. The beauty of the L1 Compact System is that it can be transported to an event in a trunk or back-seat, and then easily configured — in either a collapsed or extended configuration — without any extra, heavy gear.
