The Boston Acoustics HS 60 is a 2-way bookshelf speaker that sports a 6.5” CoPolymer DCD subwoofer with a 1” Kortec soft dome tweeter. The third speaker in the Boston Acoustics HS series, the HS 60 is an upgrade from the HS 50 and HS 40.

It features a larger subwoofer (6.5”), a greater power capacity (up to 150w), and an improved frequency (56Hz-25kHz). The HS 60, however, maintains its predecessors’ proprietary Deep Channel driver for smooth/consistent bass, Deep Channel Design for less bass per amp power, Reduced Baffled Diffraction Design for wider/smoother sound dispersion, and MagnaGuard video shielding. In addition, the HS 60 features 5-way gold-plated binding posts, adjustable feet, and built-in wall-mounting brackets that simplify the process of correctly positioning the speaker. The Boston Acoustics HS 60 is priced at $179.99, a $30 increase from the inferior HS 50, but $520 less than the lavishly-designed and super-elegant $699.99 VS 240. An optional color-coded P.O.P. grille can be purchased for just an additional $17.99.
