The Pros:Attractive cabinet enclosure. Good frequency response - will reveal most lower frequency detail and add punch. High wattage output.

The Boston Acoustics VS 260 is a 2-way bookshelf speaker that sports a 6.5” OCCM subwoofer and a 1” super wide bandwidth tweeter. The second speaker in the Boston Acoustics VS series, the VS 260 is in fact an upgrade from the VS 240.

It offers a larger subwoofer (6.5” versus 4.5”), a superior frequency response (45Hz-30kHz versus 70Hz-30kHz), a greater sensitivity (87dB versus 86dB), and a reduced crossover frequency (1900Hz versus 2000Hz). Much like its predecessor, the VS 260 also competes with its weaker competitors from the Boston Acoustics HS series. Although the VS 260 doesn’t offer as many functionions as the HS models, it does feature a lavishly-designed and super-elegant black lacquer piano finish cabinet with high-gloss furniture grade end panels in either black or cherry. The VS 260 also comes equipped with MagnaGuard video shielding and gold-plated 5-way binding posts. The Boston Acoustics VS 260 is priced at $699.99, a $300 increase from the $399.99 VS 240.
