The CMX-5s feature the same technology as the rest of the CMX line, including VegaBass technology for low end tones, and all-new drivers for high-end tones.
The CMX line of speakers feature an integrated amplifyer which matches tones and amplification between the subwoofer and driver for an integrated sound. The new driver also uses a blend of magnesium, graphite and polymers for accurate sound. This design can generate significant volume while still maintaining sound accuracy. The CMX-5s can be matched with a variety of other speakers to create any number of speaker set ups. The CMX-5's have a frequency response of 52 Hz - 20 kHz compared to the 50 Hz - 20 kHz range of the CLS-6 and the 48 Hz - 20 kHz range of the CMX-6s. They also produce a power of 100w, compared to 125 for the CLS-6 and CMX-6. Finally, they have a sensitivity of 88dB, compared to 89dB for the CMX-6, and 90 dB for the CLS-6.
