The CMX-6s feature the same technology as the rest of the CMX line, including VegaBass technology for low end tones, and all-new drivers for high-end tones.
The CMX-6 speakers are only several inches larger than the CMX-5s, however they are designed to provide the sound of a much-larger tower speaker. The CMX-6s include the same tweeter as the CMX-5s, but a larger subwoofer (6.5" compared to the 5" CMX-5) to provide comparable bass and dynamics to a tower speaker while maintaining the size of a bookshelf speaker. The CMX line of speakers feature an integrated amplifyer which matches tones and amplification between the subwoofer and driver for an integrated sound. The CMX-6's have a frequency response of 48 Hz - 20 kHz compared to the 50 Hz - 20 kHz range of the CLS-6 and the 52 Hz - 20 kHz range of the CMX-5s. They also produce a power of 125w, compared to 125w for the CLS-6 and 100w for the CMX-5. Finally, they have a sensitivity of 89dB, compared to 88dB for the CMX-5, and 90 dB for the CLS-6.
