Infinity C336
$700.00
Released April, 2005
The Pros:Elegant lines and finishes, compliments your decor without attracting attention to itself. Able to open up a large room easily, lots of power. Deep mid-range, really covers the frequencies well without "soft spots".
The Cons:Sound crossover is front biased. Some receivers have a hard time tuning them properly for soft music. Not quite the punch in the bass range that some might want, could use the support of a separate subwoofer.
The Infinity C336 is a 3-way bookshelf/floor-standing loudspeaker with three subs, one midrange, and one tweeter based on a Panted Infinity Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) technology designed to deliver improved accuracy with reduced distortion for what is described as “incredibly lifelike sound.

” An upgrade from the C205 and C255ES, the C336 (part of the Infinity Classia series) offers improved amplifier power-handling (250w versus 125/150w), not to mention triple (versus two/one) 6-1/5” (versus 5-1/4”) low-frequency CMMD woofers, one (versus none) 4” midrange dome, and one 1” high-frequency CMMD improved tweeter that delivers ultra-high frequencies up to 40Hz, making it a perfect choice for high-definition music and video games. In addition, the C336’s high-frequency tweeter is mounted in a Constant Acoustic Impedance waveguide that more accurately and effectively spreads sound waves throughout the entire room for improved sound reception. The Infinity C336 retails for $699.99 (versus $299.99/$399.99) in either high-gloss black or cherry veneer and comes with a 5 year parts and labor warranty.
