Klipsch RS-42 II

The Klipsch RS-42 II is a low mid-cost 300 watt surround speaker. Klipsch promotes this speaker as offering high output without using a lot of energy. The Tractrix horn technology of this speaker regulates the sound waves coming from the dual 1" titanium tweeters, and expands the dispersion feel (90 degrees x 60 degrees).

 The RS-42 II is designed with WDST (Wide Dispersment Surround Technology), which offers both ambient surround sound and precise sound localizing. The dual 4" Cerametallic cone woofers are treated with aluminum, which helps to minimize distortion. The Bass-reflex feature also aids in a clean bass frequency. This speaker is a step up from the lower cost RS-41 II in that it has two woofers instead of one, and in that it is 300 watts instead of 200 watts. However, this speaker is a step down from the higher cost RS-52 II in that the RS-52 II is 400 watts, and has a larger pair of woofers (5.25"). The Klipsch RS-42 II surround speaker comes in a matte black vinyl finish.
