Klipsch RS-62 II

$599.00 Released June, 2010

Product Shot 1The Klipsch RS-62 II is a high-end surround speaker, the flagship offering of the RS surround speaker product line. The RS-62 II is set up in the WDST (Wide Dispersion Surround Technology) configuration, which by aligning the two Tractrix horns at a 90 degree angle to each other, spreads the soundwaves of all frequencies in order to achieve an ambient surround sound that is heavy on detail.

The Tractrix horns manipulate the sound waves and up the dispersion field to 90 degrees x 60 degrees. The 1" tweeters of this speaker are titanium diaphragm compression driver tweeters. The dual 6.5" Cerametallic cone woofers of the RS-62 II are treated with aluminum, which helps to cut down on sound distortion. The bass-reflex design of the RS-62 II's enslosure (with four side firing ports) helps to cut down on turbulence noise. This speaker is a step up from the lower-cost RS-52 II in that it has a bigger set of woofers (6.5" as opposed to 5.25"), four side-firing ports (as opposed to two) and is 600 watts as opposed to 400 watts. The Klipsch RS-62 II surround speaker comes in a matte black vinyl finish.
