Paradigm claims the SE Sub is a product of their research and development team designed specifically for "exceptional bass performance with a compact footprint" or in other words better performance in a smaller size.

The Paradigm SE Sub-woofer includes a 900 watt peak limit combined with a 35Hz -150Hz cut-off variable frequency. For control features the SE Sub includes an auto on/off function, a sub-woofer level switch, and an additional USB port for added compatibility. The body of the device is manufactured from aluminum materials and includes a glossy finish on the exterior of varying colors. Paradigm claims the combination of the "carbon" polypropylene cone and the and over-sized internal ferrite magnet provide "excellent sound with the absence of resonant background noise".
