For control features the UltraCube 12 includes an auto on/off function, a sub-woofer level switch, and an additional USB port for added compatibility. Paradigm claims the UltraCube is more specifically manufacturer to provide "enhanced performance in a compact size".
The Paradigm UltraCube 12 sub-woofer includes both a ventilation system and an installed heatsync which allow the interior to maintain a cool temperature during operation. The UC 12 device includes a single bass driver, and two 10" radiator cones for producing sound. Paradigm claims the combination of the "carbon" polypropylene cone and the and over-sized internal ferrite magnet provide "excellent sound with the absence of resonant background noise". The body of the UltraCube 12 device is manufactured from wood materials and includes a die-cast aluminum interior which is designed to provide "exceptional acoustic resonances". The wood exterior is adorned in a matte finish which Paradigm calls "Black Ash".
