Sony ZS-S4iP

$140.00 Released September, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Includes 30 FM presets (it's better to have too many than not enough, which is usually the case). Encapsulated iPod is protected. Includes a CD player for the not-quite-dead-yet media of choice.

The Cons:Very small and underpowered 2watt speakers. Fairly expensive for what you get. Encapsulated iPod can be difficult to see.

Introduced in mid September 2008 to be available later sometime in October, the ZS-S4iP is a portable iPod speaker system and enclosure for dock-based iPods (including iPhones) made by Sony. Featuring an old looking boom box style with included tape deck-like iPod enclosure and eject button, the $140 ZS-S4iP features underpowered 2 watt speakers.

Unlike most majority of portable iPod speaker systems however, the ZS-S4iP also includes an MP3 capable CD player alongside the now common FM radio. Some questions about the system remain, like if it will feature batteries for mobile use. Will be available in black and white.
